Technical Progress of ALENOS2, MODEL2, and REWATER Presented to the Slovenian MoD and Armed Forces
Technical Progress of ALENOS2, MODEL2, and REWATER Presented to the Slovenian MoD and Armed Forces
- Details
29 June 2026, TECES Headquarters in Ljubljana hosted presentations on the current technical development status of three strategic research, development and innovation (RDI) projects – ALENOS2, MODEL2 and REWATER. The events were organised as part of the project's phase reporting activities upon completion of the first and second development milestones, providing an important opportunity to review the progress achieved to date.
The presentations were attended by representatives of the Slovenian Ministry of Defence (MoD), the Slovenian Armed Forces, project partners and participating subcontractors.
The meetings aimed to present the technical progress made in developing individual solutions and integrated systems, while also providing a platform for expert discussion on future development activities and directions.
The central focus of all three meetings was the current technical status of each project. As the lead partner, TECES presented the phase reports and the progress made towards the development milestones. The technology integrators presented the Functional and Technical Specifications of the individual solutions under development and their integration into interoperable systems. The presentations provided a comprehensive overview of the progress achieved and outlined the activities planned until the next development milestones.
ALENOS2: Second Phase Report Results and Preliminary Design Review (PDR)
The ALENOS2 project was presented through the results of the second phase report and a review of the development milestones achieved. Technology integrator Robotina presented the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) along with the Functional and Technical Specifications for the individual solutions and the overall system. These form the foundation for the further development of a smart, modular and interoperable multi-energy supply solution for deployable support capabilities.

MODEL2: First Development Milestone Towards a Multifunctional Dual-Use Modular Unit
Within the MODEL2 project, the lead partner, TECES, presented the results of the first-phase report and the progress made towards the project's development milestones. This was followed by a presentation of the Functional and Technical Specifications of the final solutions by technology integrator REM. A dedicated part of the programme focused on future technologies. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana (UL FS) presented laboratory prototypes that provide an important technological basis for future generations of solutions aimed at improving energy self-sufficiency, living comfort, advanced system management and interoperability.

REWATER: First Milestone in the Development of an Advanced Water Management System for Smart Operational Bases
During the REWATER presentation, lead partner TECES presented the results of the first phase report and the project's development progress. Kolektor Sisteh, acting as the technology integrator, presented the Functional and Technical Specifications for modular water management solutions for forward operating bases. The solutions include drinking water production, wastewater treatment and by-product recovery, forming a comprehensive, optimised and interoperable water supply system.

Advancing Innovation Through Dialogue with the MoD and End Users
Each presentation was followed by expert discussions involving representatives of the contracting authority, project partners and technology integrators. These discussions enabled an exchange of views on the progress achieved and helped define the next development activities and priorities for the upcoming project phases. This collaborative approach among the MoD, end users, and development partners plays a key role in ensuring the quality, interoperability, and practical value of the emerging solutions for both civil and defence applications.
